Cycle with skimmer?

Cycling my 125 g. It's been about 2 weeks and I added a skimmer a few days ago plus another big bag of sand and was wondering if the skimmer helps or hurts the cycle process. Also I dumped a lot of sand in there so I'm not sure if I need to add anything to help boost the cycle since I did that.

Appreciate any advice

Using fluval fx4 cannister and Octo classic 2000 skimmer. I know a sumproblem would be better but tank is not drilled and thee is no room for a sump unfortunately.

Its fine to run/break-in the skimmer during cycling..

You shouldn't need to add anything to the tank because of the additional sand..

Just continue cycling as you have been..

The sand was dry sand. I guess I'm worried I screwed up the cycle and wondering if I have to add more bacteria in a bottle.

Does the skimmer help? I hear it slows down the process so wasn't sure

You did not screw up the cycle and a skimmer does little to nothing either as far as that goes..
Its fine.. Carry on..

I always cycle my tank with Dr Tims One and Only

Yep. IME, I have done it each way with it running and without running. In my eyes it was no advantage or disadvantage either way.
