Cycled?

How long does a tank typically take to cycle? I have only had the thing running for a week and a half and there is no noticeable ammonia or nitrate and the nitrate is at 10ppm. Im thinkiing my test kits are too old or something. Calcium is 460, KH 9, ph 8.2 (these three kits are brand new, the other ones are from a year or 2 ago). Most of my LR was cured when i bought it, but about 30#'s were "uncured" i would have thought my nitrates would be a lot higher, if it truly had cycled.

How much cured LR was in there?

What about sand? Did you reuse the sand? If so, how much?

about 90#'s cured. no sand.

for now, once i get it aquascaped i will put sand in. i'll take a water sample up to gwa on saturday to have it tested.

you are good IMHO. If you have nitrates that is a good sign. good luck
