Cycling Question

I am new here and am thinking about starting a 20 gallon long tank at my office. My question is, if I cycle my rock at home first ( to avoid stinking up my office ) and then take the cycled rock and add it and some sand to the tank at my office, how much of a re cycle, if any can I expect? Will it stink up my office anyway?

it might some, not as bad if it does, if u can get some sand that is already in a cycled tank that will help speed things up

Wrap the rock in wet paper towels when you transport it to the office. I'd let it continue curing for a week or two after it finishes cycling with some big water changes and rinse it vigorously in salt water before wrapping it.

If it was me, I'd wait a few weeks after setting up the tank in your office before adding anything. Just to be sure.
