Cycling tank

I am thru week one of cycling my tanks. I am on my second round of dosing with ammonia and back down to 0. I am leaving town for the thanksgiving holiday and will be gone 7 days.

What can or should I do to keep my tank in the cycling mode while I am gone. I don't want to lose the bacteria that I have been building in my tank ?

You should be fine as you already have the bacteria started. When I cycled my tanks, I started with just some livesand and did nothing else, just let nature take its course. So if you already have some bacteria, they should keep doing their thing.

Though there are some others with more experience who can shed more insight.

Yes there is nothing you need to do...
The bacteria can survive a year or more without any additional food source..

Dosing more ammonia at this point is just going to increase your nitrates and cause you to do more work/water changes to reduce it post cycle..
Enjoy your vacation without worry.

Do you have an autotop off system to replace the evaporated fresh water? Thats really the only thing you should do..
