cycling with Cured live rock

I have purchased some Tonga Nuku live rock on ebay. It is fully cure, was in transit for 6(!) days and arrived somewhat dry. Is it still alive? I mean bacterial bed. There are some coralline spots... Will coralline algae grow back? Rock does not smell bad...
My guess is that it is dead, I cannot cycle with it, and still need to get some live rock/sand to seed.
Should I leave negative feedback? He has a 100% positive and been in this business for years. And he says that transition time does not matter.

most likely all the good stuff probably died..just find a a cup of sand from an established tank to seed your dead stuff and u should be good in due time..

Yeah most likley like desig said most of the good stuff is dead. You can usually get like Live sand at your LFS for around a buck a lb. a few pounds will be more than enough to get you moving agian.

If it smells okay and looks colorful (not brown), I'd say the rock is alive and well. The 'good stuff' will definitely survive a few days out of water.

IMO.......Just to be sure. Get a cup or two of good live sand & add it to the mix. This will seed the old mix. It will take a few weeks. You you can also help speed it up by puting a raw shrimp in the tank. The shrimp will start to rot, but this will cycle the tank.

Thanks for replies, appreciate it :)
Rock does not look too bad, hope coralline will grow back... will get some live sand and seed...
