One of my favourite LPS corals is the lovely Cynarina (also known as the meat coral, donut coral). One of the most fascinating things about it is that the entire coral is one giant polyp, it is one of the largest single polyp corals in the ocean. I don't see many pictures of them here although they are a relatively common coral, so I thought I would start a thread, so folks please post your pictures of your Cynarina here.
Here is mine in the daytime:
and at night time with it's feeder tenticles extended.
Fully extended he's about 5-6 inches in diameter and growing. I've had him about 1.5 years now in my 20g nano-reef. He eats mysis or silversliders once a week. Make sure you give them plenty of room on your tank bottom as they extend quite a bit and make sure there are no sharp rocks nearby that can puncture their delicate structure. They are very hardy and adaptable to a variety of lighting conditions. Highly recommended.
