No I just fire 3 rapid shots hand held and take the sharpest one. I havent even tried that yet.
I need to get my tripod out and put apt. to f 16 or 22 and keep ISO at 100 and shot and see how that turns out. I also want to try painting with light on those long exposures.
Just because the d300 can - you should try shooting at a higher ISO than 100. If you're using a tripod with the 105 vr - try turning off vr, iso 400+, f36+ with your pumps off. You'll be amazed!
Note - the f36 probably won't go over well with your fish shots, but for your corals it will give you some great depth.
I have the non VR 105 which I like much better. Actually all of these photos were taken with auto iso to bump up to maintain a 1/100 shutter. noise up 1/1600 is pretty awesome after that the NR just smooths it out so soft I dont really like it. I may try playing with it tonight and shoot some, may even try my 50mm 1.8. It is a really sharp lens
