Damaged Wellso Coral

Yesterday I bought a damaged Wellso at my LFS. It was in the 10$ section, so I knew something was wrong with it. Asked the guy and he said it was damaged. I liked the look of it anyways so I bought it. Got it in my tank and it seems to be doing better.

My question is, will this coral ever recover, and if so, what are the best ways to get it back to being healthy?

I own a trachy, however mine is goeffryi(sp?) and yours appears to be radiata(sp?). Had a butterfly almost destroy it in 2 days, moved it to my other tank and fully recovered within a month.
