Hi all
My goal was to have a very simple and cheap system that would be used to grow out sps frags and maricultures ready for a larger future system if i ever do lol.
The tank is located in converted pantry and is very low maintanence. It often gets neglected from time to time!
Like many before me, I often wondered what all of the excitement was over the coloured twigs but I have succumbed to them despite much resistance. However, money is not a never ending resource for me so I plan on keeping it simple, with minimum equipment. No sump just hang on skimmer (deltec MCE 300) and a cheap hang on filter ect ,I will try and use the equipment best I can therefore ensuring maximal chance of success. So here is a run down of things as they are.
The tank
3x1x15inch high
Its nothing special just a clear-seal tank that I got seconed hand on eBay for £10
Tank Specifications
Tank Dimensions: 36 (L) X 12"W) X 15" (H)
Tank Volume: 90 lt (gross) (water level)
In standard 5mm glass with clear silicone.
Cabinet
It's a old solid telly cabinet in dark brown that I got off eBay for £10
Equipment
Skimmer: Deltec MCE 300
Pumps: Tunze 1x 6045 X 1 HYDOR KORALIA NANO 900
Heaters: Eheim 150
Coolers: 4 way Azoo fan and TC-10 heating and cooling Control
Lights: 6x24 ATI Powermodule T5
Top up: by hand
Dosing:balling method by hand(dosing pump coming soon)
RO Unit: D-D RO 36 USG Unit (4 stage with DI resin and inline TDS)
Invertebrates so far
Soft Corals: pink pulsing Xenia.
(Ultra zoathids) hot pinks, bright red people eaters,sunny D,
Yellow spot with blue ring with green lashers.
LPS Corals:, Pink tip hammer 2x acanlord red&green,(red&green blastomussa)
SPS Corals:
2x Montipora digitata (Orange), Montipora confusa plating (green),2x Acropora (brown with purple tips) Seriatopora Guttatus (light green) ,Seriatopora (green with purple polyps), 2x Acropora (green) Bali slimer,plating Montipora (green&blue),(bright blue) acropora staghorn,Acropora (pink millipora).
Clean up crew
Clear shrimp,Red leg hermit crab,Blue leg hermit Crab, Mexican Turbo Snail

Salt brand: reef crystals
Dosing Scheme: Standard balling lite
Dosing Salts: Sodium Bicarbonate (FM), Calcium Carbonate Dihydrate (FM), Magnesium Chloride Heptahydrate (FM), Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (FM)
Test Kits: KH (Salifert), Ca (Salifert), Mg (Salifert), N03 (Salifert), NO2 (Salifert), Phosphate (Salifert)
Solutions: Salifert Natural Iodine and Brightwell Alkalin 8.2
