dart question

i bought a used dart for a closed loop. i got a good deal on it. I pluged it in to se if it ran i only ran it for a second. but i was amazed how quiet it was. the only thing i see with it is the shaft going into the pump from the motor has some brown junk around it. i have heard there is a seal there. i am sure i should replace it. it would not be hard to do it now but later i would have to take it off line. just wanted some of you guy's opinion.

well I did some research and there is a seal that leaks. I can get the seal from reeflo. it is only 5 bucks I think I will get two. that way I will have a back up.

I also wanted to ask all of you with dart closed loops. I have two 2 inch bulkheads feeding the intake of the pump. I did not know about the returns. I want to have about six outlets. I did not know what size pipe I should use. I want to use lock line. should I use 3/4 or 1/2 lock line with six outlets. I know marino420td has about the same set up on his 120. just do not know the exact specs. any ideas would be welcome.

I would run 2" pipe back up till you have to down size for the Loc Line. And if it were me I would use 3/4's. Have you seen the Eductors that fit the Loc line.. I have 2 of these in my tank and they really help push the flow from one side to the other on my 6' tank.
