To be continued...

The tank dimensions are 60x48x20 and it is a peninsula style tank. I'll post up some more info about the build later today.

Ok, finally have time to make a post. Don't you just hate when work gets in the way of a build =P

I inherited a stand with the tank but it was build to be attached to a wall and inside a fish room so it's not the prettiest. First up, beef up the stand and skin it to make it look better.

I am going to shoot for a more modern look. I found this pick from Turtle customs and planning on using it as a jumping off point.

I will probably go with white rather than black though.

Ok... Off to the garage

Frame has been modified, now I need to skin it.

The majority of the equipment will be from my old tank. ATB medium cone, ATB 1500 flowstar for the return, two MP40s, and a few nano streams. Still up in the air with whether or not to use zeovit. It worked well on the current tank but my travel schedule is hectic and makes it hard to keep up with dosing.

Glad to see she got there in one piece Ben! I'm jealous! At least I will be able to live vicariously through you!

Sweet, another Austin reef build! Anybody with a 240g tank within driving distance is a friend of mine.

If you need help, let me know. You can find my qualifications here.

build is looking great. Can't wait to see it together. Any more thoughts on using zeovit? I was thinking about it on my new tank, but have the same problem with traveling all the time.

Hey Ross! Good to see you found the thread. Hopefully I'll be able to get this baby running as well a you did.

Javajaws,
I guess I forgot to update my location. Unfortunately I had to move to Houston a few years ago. Really want to move back to Austin one day though. You got a good build thread going. Best of luck. I'm actually getting married in Austin on Oct and I'm up there all the time so maybe I can help you out instead =)

Elm,
My current tank is running the zeovit at 1/2 dose. I had one too many issues running it at full dose and traveling at the same time so I'm going to see if 1/2 dose will do enough to keep me head of the curve without the extra risk of misdosing. If you are starting your tank bare I say go for it full strength to start the back off after the tank is more stable. That how I started my old tank a few years ago and it worked like a charm.

Houston has some good tanks setup down there. I've got family there so I go every now and then, maybe we can frag swap one day.

You just need to hurry up and get this thing going so I can see fish and corals in it again!!!! I miss it!!! :D

I'm moving ... I'm moving!! =P

Got the left side columns done

The right side will hold one of my control panels so I built in some doors

I'm still amazed how much space there is under here

I'll finish up the upper trim tomorrow then it's painting time.

Finished the skin and it's ready for paint.

Since the overflow is external I'm also building a cabinet to hide the overflow and hold some extra equipment
