I've been running three Current USA 3170 gph eFlux DC pumps in the sump of my 550g (freshwater) tank. Just returned home to discover that one of them has burned out. It’s past warranty so I need to buy a new one. Not sure what could have caused this - the controller was partially melted though and I guess I'm lucky I didn't have an electrical fire to deal with in addition to needing to replace a pump. Will reach out to Current USA and see if they have any thoughts on the matter...
I’ve liked the eFlux pumps up until today, so would certainly consider replacing with another of the same (waiting to hear what Currrent has to say). But I thought I'd pop over here and see if anyone could recommend a newer/better pump as a replacement. I’d want something that pushes around the same volume - 3000+ gph - one that is energy efficient and silent. And preferably with the same size connectors so I don't have to do too much plumbing.
