DC8 & interface controller connection

I am using all eight plugs (channels) on my DC8, but I still wanted to use my alarm module. I programmed the aquacontroller to use channel 09 as the alarm and added all the other programming commands for alarms on pH, ORP, temp and battery back-up as well as the main command [If Time > 01:00 Then ALM OFF] as per the manual.

There is supposed to be a channel out plug on the DC8 to allow for the interface controller or another DC8 or DC4 to be used in addition to the DC8. When I plugged in my phone cable to connect the two, the light on the interface controller turns off and doesn't work. Is there something I'm supposed to do to the DC8 to allow the interface controller to work with it? What am I missing? There is no mention about the DC8 in the Aquacontroller manual and the DC8 came without a manual.

Thanks,
Danny

You need to connect them as follows:

Aquacontroller > DC8 > Powerline Interface.

There is an IN on the DC8 this goes to the Aquacontroller, the OUT goes to the Powerline Interface.

This is exactly how I connected it:

Aquacontroller>DC8 in DC8 out>controller interface

Controller interface worked fine before I got the DC8.

You should use the DC8 on one channel group(A1-A8) and the controll interface on a different channel group(B1-B*).

Make sure the phone cord have 4 wires by looking at the plug ends, some phone cords you get with phones don't have all four wires.

Try each independently to confirm that you can control the X10 stuff through just the control interface, and the DC8 by itself as well. You should see the light on the DC8 blink off when it receive commands. Also the light on the control interface will blink off when it receives commands.
