ok this is kinda funny now but at the moment it happened i was freaking out thinking my water was bad. ok for those of you that enjoy a giggle from us newbies here is a good one for you. yesterday i just put in the cleaners to my new tank. it has just finished cycling and it was time to allow them to remove some of the algae growing. the LFS should warn us newbies about the crabs. anyway this morning i did my routine of turning on the lights and feeding the damsils and checked to see if all crabs and snails were alive and counted for. all good at this point. then about two hours later i go back and noticed one of my crabs wondered off by itself and when i looked closer i saw him dead laying in the sand outside of his shell.. so panic set in and i read that bad water could cause things to die and that dead things needed to be removed asap. so i netted him out and figured the damsils got the rest of him. yes you can start laughing now if you want.. i then went back to get the shell and noticed a crab staring back at me.. 
Doh!!!! it molted and i completely forgot they do that...:lol: so now that the panic is gone cause my water is fine i can sit back and giggle about the whole ordeal.
