If you have base rock (dry)and a percent of live rock.... how long will the base rock take to come to life..........

if you are seeding it with live rock it should be about a month..
or live sand right??

IMO, as soon as there are nitrifying bacteria present on the rock, it is live. So basically as long as your cycle goes.

Looks on the other hand, it took my base roughly 4 months to color up to the point where i can't tell the difference between my (once)dead and live rock.

 English???

It also depends on the ratio of dead rock to live rock to determine how fast the dead rock will seed. 20 lbs of dead rock mixed with 80 lbs of live rock will seed much faster than 20lbs of dead rock mixed with 5 lbs of live rock. The second scenario could take up to a year or more to get full life.
