Dealing with coraline algae

I was just browsing through the gallery section and I saw this awesome looking tank, viewable from 3 sides in a white room with a canopy/wall above it that goes to the sealing. It didn't give the dims. but it looked pretty deep. How would you keep the glass perfectly clear of it in a setup like this? FOWLR I guess? I'd like to hear how everybody deals with their coraline or if they just let it go. I was fine with it taking off in my tank but I wasn't realizing that every time I did a water change, about 3" of it dies off around the top and is clear. I like how it covers everything but I'd rather have my black background back. Plus, now it's hit and miss on the sides and doesn't look very good.

I've done it plenty of times but I'm talking more about all the hard to reach spots. It's growing fast in my tank. I'm guessing it must be a daily routine for a lot of people.

I don't mind the algae on my return pipes, powerheads or overflow boxes...I think it helps make it a little more natural for the fish. On the other hand I hate it on the glass. I have one of those long kent scrapers with the stainless steel blades...that works wonders. I don't have to do a lot of scraping with that though cause if you use a mag float on a regular basis, the coraline doesn't have much of a chance.

you can buy some sea urchins. They love to eat coraline algea.I have one in my tank.I place him in my sump when its time to mow the calerpa.
