I have a 8" DSB in my sump in about three years it has never been disturbed now I am considering redesigning my sump but I am afraid that disturbing the DSB might have adverse effects. Has anyone done this before and what kind of side effects can I expect if any?
I designed and built the sump three years ago it works but could be a lot better, I am surprised that no one has tried to re-use the sand on the new sump with a DSB makes me want to try it increasing by water testing just in case.
I think you should siphon the top like 2 inches so there is no storm in your tank this way the rest of your tank can compensate for the loss then like 2 weeks later another 2" etc.....
