deepwater acro question?

polywise

OLD SCHOOL-ish
I am interested in possibly adding a few of these to my tank in the near future.

What does this description mean in regards to keeping them in our systems?

I have 4 400w mh + VHO
my tank is 30" tall & lighting is +- 12" above the water

what are suggestion for having in this tank with the lighting I described?

any unique husbandry requirements, as compared to keeping other SPS corals?

"deepwater" really isn't a classification for acropora other than where they were probably collected. Many reefers have had success placing them in different areas of the tank. I personally have my granulosa on the bottom and my loripes and jacquelineae at the top. The granulosa likes less flow than the other two...

I also have received deepwaters from other reefers that RTNd within 3 days.

I have the jacquelineae place middle of my 55 gallon running 2 175w mh's. Meduim flow and growing well

I have deep water and exotics only. When you want any of these, find out the conditions they are in before you buy any. Some can take the light, and some don't take a liken to it.It 's always best to start ALL at the bottom anyway.Even with your 400 you can find a little shade if needed. But all the on line stores, will help you out there as for how much light is needed.
