Does this mean we can direct post our Frag Auctions on the Phoenix FRAG Forum without going thru you in the future. I sent you 3 PM's starting with the one on 9-4-2010 and you still had questions on the eve before our Get Together instead of posting our link or letting me post it. I do believe this the same thing DgenR8 sent me a PM about when I tried posting about our meet
 
It was an invitation for you to join. I tried responding several times to your messages and I even gave you an alternate email address to use because it seemed as if I was having issues. As I told you per our first conversation, it was that you were posting that it was a "FRAG" meeting in tuscon. It had nothing to do with you posting in the FRAG forum. The only messages I got from you were forwards of what you had already sent. I did not see instructions on what you wanted me to do. I have deleted the post and the mods can close this thread. Sorry about that.

Thanks for your help with this, might be worth the trip if you can make it down here expecting a great turn out and good food. There's a great Vietnamese/Asain restaurant a few doors down and they should be supplying a few snacks, best eggrolls I've had in Arizona. There will also be a BBQ, still working on final details. Dont delete your original post. I dont think anybody has any problem with FRAG posting anything on our forum. We would just like to do the same.
 
FRAG is a generic term similar to xerox which people use everyday when they go to make a copy of a document. no harm in using FRAG in tucson
 
When I heard about the discrepancy caused from “us” posting in another forum it really didn’t make any sense. Honestly I see it as an act of expanding our local swaps, meeting new people, and getting a chance to see what other frags are in circulation. I see no reason for this type of thing to be happening, and the fact that there is/was a misinterpretation is nonsense. Are we trying to compete? No. Was the “frag” swap used to false represent? Please. We simply extended an invite to our local swap which should be taken as just that. Perhaps when the dust settles and attitudes are adjusted we can squash this and have a frag swap for grins.
 
this is so dumb. im going to frag, have frag swaps. and have a fraggin good time, it is generic, and it isnt trademarked to their fourm.
 
Westy82, Maybe you could help us get the Phoenix FRAG to vote to allow an agreement for our two forums to cross post again as we used to a few years back. I think all it would take is someone from there to start a thread and we could put this rule to rest and go back to working together.
 
I agree with "scubabum1983", this is "DUMB"!!! Can't we all just get along? When the word "frag" is used, it is used in many ways in this hobby. I'm sure the Phoenix forum has not copywrited the word, nor would they. I've been up to the "frag" auction in PHX and found the people and auction to be great. I feel that "we" all should be able to get along and "play" nice. Whatever disagreements happened in the past are history! Lets figure out a way to work this out so we all can enjoy the benefits of what both forums have to offer.
 
I talked to helfrichs chick. There is no problem posting in their forum. All she asked is that you don't use the term frag. Use another word, its not that big of a deal.
 
no more use of the word frag for us, and they can't use the word reef........

I have tried to stay away from this thread, but this is beyond ridiculous, makes me better understand why the world is such an ugly place.

Well if its NO big deal than why dont they list there word "frag" with the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington D.C. and we can list "reef"..... If this is going to be the norm, then what word or slang term can I use to describe a small ceramic plug with a small piece of coral attached with superglue gel be called????

Perhaps we could use the term "frag" backwards, "garf".....:hammer:
 
You can use what ever word you want as long as its not on the Frag forum. Its just a madder of people being confused about about FRAG meeting VS. little piece of coral meeting. I know its silly but its not that hard to be adults and compromise and call it a coral swap. If the two groups cant come together because of something as silly as this, then why even bother.
 
I would think people would be smart enough to understand a "Tucson Get Together Frag Auction" is not the same as a Phoenix "FRAG" auction. Thats why I don't like clubs, egos and power trips. I would love to get a headcount of the Phoenix group and see if this is a commonly held belief?

But its turning into a peeing contest and my gourd is drained!
 
I dont think it mattered anyway. That post had a bunch of views before it got deleted and 0 replies. Man I agree its silly, all I'm saying is it wouldn't be that hard to comply in order make something happen. Ego wise someone has to be the bigger person here or its just gonna be drama.
