in the last days this one dendronephthya was in the low part of the aquarium, but it started becoming sad:

with two weeks I raised it to the surface of the aquarium and it is already happy and eating almost directly.

interesting the behavior of these organism azoox that almost do not need light or small.

I realised this too... They will inflate more when they exposed to more light... And stay deflated when they are in a shade area... LOL...

Hi,

I don´t think it is a positive reaction to light, maybe it is a positive reaction to current (stronger, more laminar) or to substances near the water surface.

I don´t know, I think mine is more influenced by the current. It seems to prefer an orientation perpendicular to the current.

Yes, my dendronephthya umbellata only opens during the light hours and I think this is not the normal behavioural pattern of dendros. Maybe it is a question of the species and I do not know if that will give them and advantage competing for food in nature but in an aquerium definetely it does..

I think, Dendronephthya does not respond to light but to certain chemical substances like nutrients and flavours. Obviously in your tank more flavours are present during the day, maybe through fish feeding. With continous feeding mine seems to have an irregular rhythm of opening. It opens after beginning of feeding in the morning, closes after a certain saturation is reached and reopens then again.
