detached bubble floating

I have seen frogspawns pinch off little tips of their tenctacles, but today I found a polyp of my bubble coral( I think it maybe actually a tooth coral) floating around. There is a mouth attached and is about 1". I put the polyp in my nano, and was wondering if it would be able to attach itself to anything. There is no skeleton attached to it.

Has anyone seen this before.
