I've had my Devil's Hand for close to a month now. I got a great deal on it. I got it for $45 and it's about 7 inches across, which compared to my other LFS is very cheap. It was doing great for the first few weeks, and really became the showpiece of my tank. Recently it has showed up with what looks to be indentations on it where the skin/pieces of it has been ripped away. The only thing I can think of is some type of predator. My top three culprits are:
1. My trio of peppermint shrimp
2. My scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp
3. My golden tail blenny which I bought as a bicolor blenny
I most suspect my peppermints because they will kill completely fine snails and seem to like to pick at things. The only reason I would suspect my cleaner shrimp is because it attacks corals that I feed when it tries to steal food from corals(although the devils hand doesn't even eat). And the only reason I think the golden tail blenny is because it picks algae and debris off the devil's hand, so it might accidently chomp on it. So far I have left the Devil's Hand alone for now to recover but it seems to be getting worse. Any help is appreciated.
