I recently aquired a piece of this and it is about the size of a fist.
I was running a 130 watt PC when I put it in the tank. Now I am running a 175watt electronic ballast with a 10k Ushio bulb. What I am getting at is, it has not fully opened up yet and I am wondering how long it takes or is there something I am doing wrong here???

Did you acclimate the tank to the new lighting?

If you switch to a more powerful lighting source with giving the inhabitants time to adjust to the new lighting, it could cause some corals to bleach, and generally look unhealthy until they can recover.
