Diamond bit help?

I am setting up two 30g breeder tanks and need to drill them. I wanted to know if anyone locally knows how to drill through glass or has a diamond bit I could borrow? I am looking to drill a 1" hole for a 1" bulkhead.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, probably with frags. :)

Thanks

I have a drill bit you could use...
Drilling the tanks is not hard, I could explin it to you when you
picked up the bits. I have multiple sizes, so if you needed a small one to like maybe add a float valve, you could.

you need a 1-3/4" hole for a 1" bulkhead

Really? Maybe that is to big, I want a hole for a 30g breeder, bigger rather than smaller for a drain is what I am thinking.

I guess I am looking for a 1- 3/4" bit than.

Mel do you have a 1-3/4"? Thanks for the offer.

yes, 1 3/4" if you use the standard bulkhead, but, if you plan to use the Sched 80 heavy duty bulkhead then you need a 1 7/8" hole

I am going to use basic white pvc from homedepot which I think is schedule 40. Does anyone know if one bulkhead is better than another? I have found a few different types.

Eric, that is awesome! I plan on copying that design. The only concern I would have is if the bulkhead stays on well since the bucket is round?

Thanks again

What are you going to breed Matt?

LOL hopefully corals. I want to setup a 20g long and put eggcrate between it and on each side put a pair of clownfish.

Matt I do have that size drill bit....

Sounds good. Give me a call again because I lost your number.

Thanks

I will not be needing the bit anymore. I was telling my parents how I am going to dill the glass and yada yada yada they ended up giving me $30 to go get it drilled from a glass shop.

My parents really have faith in me. :D

Yeah, my wife does not have faith in my skills either, even though I did it once (really 7 holes) already with no issues. that is why I have CL intake and bottom return pipes in my tank :(

DAM $30 ea?.....Are they drilled yet? Give my $30 bucks and I would drill the tanks for you. I have faith in myself, so I would guarantee my work.

No it was $30 for a consultation with a glass expert. Then they charged me $15 for misc. supplies and then it was $30 each hole. They said no one can do it cheaper so I just dropped the money but in the end it was well worth it.

Thanks

;) j/k it was $30 for both holes drilled.
