Diamond Goby

I have noticed my Goby tends to stur up little particals within my tank while shifting trough the sand all day. Would a starfish or Cucumber do as good of a job keeping the sandbed clean and white? Any other sand shifters out there someone might be able to recommend that wont stur up so much stuff in the water as i enjoy Crystal clear water. Dont get me wrong he is doing a Great job however he sturs up my Fiji Pink (Thin grade Sand bed) quite a bit.

I can vouch for cucumbers doing a decent job of chewing through sand beds...but they don't tend to go as deeply as the goby. Alone, cucumbers won't do the job so I have both.

I have a diamond goby in my 220g. Give it a few weeks, all the small particles will be skimmed/filtered out by then and the goby won't cause such a sand storm. My favorite fish.

Korrine, I have had the goby for just about 2 weeks now He is doing a GREAT job keeping the sand well turned however for the little particals in the water its just annoying i guess i am being a neat freak though eheh.

by the way ZOMBIES ROCK... =D

mine did a great job relandscaping the tank every day. He has slowed down and the dust stomrs he created do not occur any longer.

If I fed mine alot he wouldnt sift for food as much, when I forgot to feed him he would be going nuts sifting so try feeding it more.

Mine made a huge mess the first month, once he settled into the tank he mellowed out. Now he does an outstanding job and doesnt make a mess.

Does anybody's fish accept any type of food that you offer? I really want to try one of these again but my last one got REALLY thin because it wouldn't accept prepared foods and I guess it ate everything in the sand bed there was to eat, lol.
