Ive been surfing around this forum,& the New To the Hobby forum,& have seen tons of threads where members are having problems with noisy drains,& microbubbles in their main display. There are alot of "fix its" out there HGB is one.I have been reefkeeping for a while,& (knock on wood) havent had a problem with that.I just moved into a new condo a few months ago,& due to limited space i set up a RR 75g,(Megaflow) A friend of mine has a 550g reef,& 2 500g sumps,so i had all my LR from my old tank in his sump until i could get up,& running.I set my reef up 2 months ago,& added a Magnavore sump, with mag drive 7 return & 70lbs of LR from my old tank,& all SW from his sump which is all plumbed togeather to his DT.
My point is that the loudest thing on my reef is the cooling fans from my MH fixture,& when the lights are off i hear only the slight trickle of water going into the overflow.
I know that i am so ANAL about noise,& microbubbles, that i feel for the guys who have this going on.There is no reason why you should have to listen to your tank gurggling, sucking,or blowing bubbles into your DT.
