Did I kill my zoas with superglue?

I have a couple zoa polyps on a small piece of rock, and that rock was glued to a frag plug. I noticed the rock fell off the plug so I pulled both pieces out, and used regular liquid superglue to glue the rock back to the plug, then put it back in the tank. In the couple hours since then the polyps have closed up, and have shrunk so the bodies are like a blob.

Is liquid super glue the wrong thing to use? Now that I am reading, most places say use gel super glue.

It really depends what glue you used and what's in it. My money is you got glue on the polyps...I've done that before and mine burst through the glue.

Have to make sure it says cyanoacrylate most do but some cheap ones have other weird stuff that can really heat up as it cures. It's always good to dip the glued item in tank water to keep it cool and it also helps cure the glue

I only use the real stuff, and i only have had success with the gel. It dries much easier and doesn't get everywhere (as in potentially all over the zoas)
