Difference between blues

So my coral supplier has two different acroporas listed and just very generic descriptions. I have been looking for some blue corals to add to my setup.


Ice blue acropora
Dark blue acropora

Anyone think they could help me decide on which color would look better. I'm not looking for so dark it's almost purple and I also see ice blue using google that is basically white with blue tips and polyps.

I would just see it as light blue and dark blue. just decide which one you want. depends on where they are collected. there is just no way to tell which will turn out better under your specific lights and water quality.

it could even be the same coral, one is collected closer to the surface.

You are going to have the pick and take a chance. This is why shops/vendors sometimes have nice coral and sometimes get bad stuff that they have to put on clearance. If you want to pay wholesale, this is the risk... if everybody could get the best stuff for cheaper, everybody would do it.

Both are the same price I just want to make sure I get blue and not some random white ish blue

you are getting it whole sale, most likely it will be your average joe coral either way in my experience. but that's the fun part, you might get that 1% top shelf stuff.
