Difference between Brooklynella and bacterial infection

I recently upgraded to a 360 gallon tank. I transferred all of my livestock plus added several fish bought from fellow reefers. About a month into it my powder blue tang exhibited discoloration and white filmy skin. I thought it was Brook and after sometime was finally able to catch him. I treated with formalin but to no avail. I then caught the Naso, clownfish, and bangaii cardinals. I treated them with formalin and Erythromycin. The clowns and tang died. The cardinals did have large red areas that seemed to be healed by the antibiotic and are looking great in their own hospital tank. I have a yellow and Vlamingii tangs, dartfish pair and a six line left in the main tank. They showed a few signs of sickness, mostly the discoloration, and are now very healthy and eating. How do I know if the bacterial infection from adding too many fish too fast killed the fish or was it Brooklynella? Corals, inverts, and a big clam were completely unaffected. Thanks!

Did you take any pics when the fish were sick? It sounds like a bacterial infection to me, as a fish's natural immune system can sometimes beat that on it's own. The same cannot usually be said for Brook...
