I bought this 2 weeks ago and did a dip before placing it in my tank. It was initially placed on a piece of tall rock I have about halfway up my tank (40 breeder), glued down with some fluval epoxy. It seemed to be doing well with most if not all polyps open all day unless a fish or hermit disturbed it. What attracted me to it at the fish store were all of the green and orange polyps (30-40ish). Now, starting about a week ago, the orange and green zoa's hardly open anymore, it is predominately the purple and orange ones that are open. I saw maybe 2-4 of the purple polyps on it at the fish store but now they are all I see. Are they an aggressive or space dominating type of Zoanthid that doesn't mix well with other types? Any ideas would be appreciated I really like the green and orange ones.
Below are three pictures, the first was taken on 9/16, the second 9/21 and the last one was taken today. My Sea urchin decided to undo the concrete like bond of the epoxy and knock it down in the sand. The issues with the zoa started before the involuntary coral rearrangement but it came me a reason to experiment with different tank placements. I left it facing up towards the light down lower thinking it might like lower light, no luck. Same goes for moving it higher and to different flow rates.
