Digitata

I have a few pieces of Dan's digitata 1 of which has shown staedy growth over the months. Yesterday I noticed a branch snapped off the larger piece. Doubting any of the fish could have done it so my question is, Do I need to up the calcium (is it not getting what it needs), did it frag itself, or what? I have not moved it at all so I know I didn't break it. Needless to say I have at least 1 frag if someone wants it.

I've had a tang "frag" a piece of digi during feeding...he got over-excited and ran into it! :D

No.

How thick was the branch that broke? Most of the green digi I got is very thick...would take alot of force. However, some branches are somewhat thinner, but I think would still require a good knock to snap 'em.

Was a somewhat thinner branch. The yellow tank has a favorite spot in a cave a little under the coral but has always swam around and through the digitata without hitting it including feeding. Just wanting to make sure I wasn't low with the calcium or whatever with that and the favite in there.

I actually found that digitata to break real easily. Not like my green slimer that I tore my hands up with try to break. I think different acros have different calcium growth patterns making some much stronger than others. The digitata is most likely a lighter, less dense growth than some others.
