dinos, any tips?

volcom, I can't really give an easy answer to that. It's been setup for 11 months now, but before that it was established for years. I took it down to drill the tank and redo the system.

Thanks guys... I already gotta trash bag covering :)

JDL, no... but being dinoflagellates I wonder if that would help?

not sure. ask santa montica on algaescrubber.net
i dont think it can hurt. Some people dont like ATS systems but i cant see any negative to it, except the weekly cleaning of the screen.

72 hours of darkness ended officially midnight last night. I took off the trash bag covering, gave it white LED through today, and after work I started what will total to about 4 hours of actinic. tomorrow will get a full days worth of actinic. Friday I'll start weaning MH back into play.

The fuge now only contains the plant life of coralline and chaeto. The display is currently devoid of any dinos, the walls covered by a layer of kalk precipitate (which came right off).

Fish - All happy, albeit a little too eager to eat :)

Corals - All happy. Zoanthids are again fully extended for the first time since they went in the tank a few weeks ago... may be thanks to carbon being introduced into the system, which I plan to now run full time.

So it'll just be a nervous few days to see if it tries to make a comeback.

thanks again guys.

Joel, I hope your outbreak is over. Sounds like the tank black-out may be an important part of the solution. Good luck, and again, I hope they are gone for good.
Matt
