I just ordered a scoly and was wondering if I should and how to dip a scoly?
Please feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

i dipped my scoly in an iodine based coral dip from seachem.

i imagine any coral dip would be suitable.

Yes the Seachem product is fine, so is Revive by TLF. I do a standard acclimation procedure, then test the water to make sure the SG, alk & temperature matches the tank I'm putting it in. Then I dip it dip it in new but identical water in concentration and time recommended on the label. (About 5 to -0 minutes) I like to squirt the margins & underside with a turkey basted to help dislodge any stubborn bugs. I try to avoid touching the fleshy tissue.

I've used the following dips on scolymias with no problems:

CoralRx per manufacturer's instructions
Bayer Advanced Insecticide 0.5ml to 2 cups tank water for 15 minutes
Tank water : Hydrogen Peroxide in a 10:1 ratio for 20 seconds
Lugol's Iodine per manufacturer's instructions
