Dipping SPS

How long do you leave sps in your dipping solution? Can the dip stain the corals? My thin skinned turakis and echinatas don't like the dip and will sometimes rtn or lose some of their skin. Should certain sps skip the dip or is that too risky. QT options?

I use Coral RX and/or Bayer. 5-10 minute dips. Never heard of dips staining corals. Yes, I have heard that Echinata, Turakis, and even Carduus or Walindii (whatever Red Dragon Acro is) don't like to be dipped. I dip no matter what, but use less of the dosage or less amount of time in dip if it is one of those listed.

I used Coral Rx and interceptor. If I am dipping a dragon or turaki, I skip the Coral Rx if the coral came from a known source.

I made a mistake of dipping a Hawkin's (didn't see that sticky) and its just starting to rebound. It had pretty much de-skinned except for tips. Slowly coming back.

Sincerely,

David

I dip every frag, always remove plug or rock it is on first and discard. Would much rather lose a frag from dipping regardless of cost than infect the tank. Just does not make sense any other way

I dipped some new frags I got from a swap this weekend in Revive for around 10 min and all the SPS is down to the skeleton after a few days in the QT :(. The zoas seem to be fine. Should I still keep nurturing the SPS? Do they stand a chance of coming back?
