Anyone has experince with dusty and dirty tank, if yes how do you fix it and make water crystal clear.
My tank is 48x30x24" high, since I swap it out with the previuos tank four months ago, it look like dusty/dirty, I notice small tiny thing and few micro bubble alway inside the tank. I have two MP40 place in the back wall face to the front. Prior to this tank, all the equipment are the same with the okd tank and the old tank has crystal clear water.

I am guessing your skimmer has too much microbubbles that are not filtered out before they hit the return. Also, your return could be too high flow? This could cause excessive water pressure at outlet causing swirling effects that trap air bubbles.

From what I saw more like dust particles that float around the tank, but he used filter sock
Not sure what micron
I'm wonder if it from salt mix?

What does he mean by dusty. Do you have micro debris in water swirling around? is there a scummy film on the glass? I would say a biopellet reactor...... or whatever you can get your hands on, lol.

Maybe GFO fine particles are getting blown out of GFO reactor due to high reactor flow and then they are getting sucked up by return pump? Or maybe the MP40s are set too high and blowing fine sand particles around?

He mentioned 4 months old tank and no change in equipment or new addition. It will be learning for all of us if he shares some more details.

I have some micro bubble from the output of the skimmer but not much. I have bubble trap divider before the return chamber. I also use a filter sock mesh on the drain and another filter sock to cover the return pump. but you bring up a good point of too high flow cause excessive water pressure, let me try to reduce the return pump. btw, I am using the Jebao dtc 15000 and running at mid-point.

I have mesh filter sock. I have the same issue with felt sock. I am using Microbe-lift salt.

Yes, I have micro debris swirling around in the water, this is exactly what I trying to said.
I don't have film on the glass, I experienced that white film while running bio pellet and while doing vinegar to the ATO container. I don't run bio pellet anymore.

This is not the case because the GFO reactor running at low tumbling. if the MP40s are to high it may stir up the debris for a while but not for long period of time.

I have the same set up 8 months ago. I mean same stand, light, sump, skimmer, circulation pump, dosing kit, ATO....
4 months ago, I replace the main display tank from 125g (48x30x20") to 150gal (48x30x24"), and redo the plumping a little bit because the two tank overflow/ return has difference number of holes size.
Before the swap I was very please with the water clarity,it look clean and crystal clear as most of other people tank.
After the swap, my new tank alway has white micro debris swirling around in size the tank.

too much flow, is there such a thing?

too much flow, is there such a thing?

We all like good flow but is there such a thing as too much flow? I have a DCT 12000 and I think it is very powerful even at 3 lights. so a DCT 15000 at midpoint might break down the bigger debris into finer particulates and continuously churns them? The bigger debris in this case could be decayed algae, fish poop, un eaten food etc etc.............Let's say if the flow isn't this high, then in that situation the larger debris might have/would have remained as one piece in the bottom for a while before disappearing due to bacterial disintegration?

Is it a possible scenario?
