Discolored red patch on gill plate

Does anyone know what this discolored faint red patch is over the gill plate is? It appeared and has been there for a few days.

My wife has a maroon clown in her 30 cube whose lines turn grey when the clown is in her RBTA. They turn white again when the fish swims around the tank though. Is that patch still visible under full light? He may just be trying to blend in with the tube.

Yeah it's always visible. It started out as a small circle and spread over a few days. I think it may have been some prazipro left in the QT. I did a water change and added carbon to the hang on filter. Today the red patch seems to be getting smaller and less vivid.

Might want to think about some minocyclin too. If you ahve API General Cure, it contains both Prazi and Mino. If it doesn't get better you might want to think about a more broad spectrum antibiotic. What's the water quality like in your tank?
