Ditrus Eating Invert In A BB Tank

So I was wondering if there was some type of ditrus eating snail or other invert that dosn't require sand and would do well in a 20g BB SPS tank.

Ceriths never live long in my tank, all other snails do. Right now I just keeps a heathly stock off blue hermits

im gonna have to get lots of ceriths, more bluelegs, and more snails that sift the sand bed, another sea star, all to clean my new sand thast goin in today, tag along, the thread is up top

better solution...more flow at the bottom of the tank so the detritus can't build up, and gets removed by wet skimming.

Well, I can add more flow to the bottom, but I would have to use a PH and I am out of plugs lol. I realy don't want to put a PH in there because I hate the look of them in tanks.

A Sea Star would be cool, but do they eat clams, and wouldn't it get too large for a 20H?

A sea star would work, they wouldn't eat clams or anything. Size wouldn't matter either, I've seen plenty of them in nano's.

I think more flow would be your best bet. A powerhead would be much cheaper in the long run and would probably have better results.

What do you use for flow now? You can eliminate all powerheads by doing a closed loop system with an external pump.

Don't forget that ceriths poop too. And the more they eat the more they poop. Flow is really your only option besides just sucking the crap out all the time.

Doody, I have a Mag 5 on the Return from the Sump and a Mag 9.5 on a closed loop. I am considering taking the snails out compleatly and going manual with algae removal, I realy don't have algae as it is. The reason for this is because I started out with 30 lbs of base rock and 3 lbs of cooked LR and turned the base into LR.

Here's a picture of the tank.

Thats a good turn over rate? I don't even know how you're getting detrius in the on the bottom of the tank. You might just need to aim your outputs a little different.

I have the 4 for the CLS pointed at each other so that they flow is randomly distributed to the SPS, any other way and it would be to much flow for one of the SPS, and I can't afford, litteraly, to have another one RTN on me because of excessive flow.
