I came across a video on FB of someone who took two 6×2 foot aquariums, disassembled them and reapplied the 6ft sides to make a 6×6 square aquarium equalling 540 gals with the bottom being plywood and all glass sides. Has anyone done or considered this? Pros, cons? I could imagine how awesome it would be if i purchased another used 210 gallon to make a 630 gallon square. :D

Making a tank isnt easy. That being said, plenty of people have made plywood tanks. There's just usually more plywood than glass. I would imagine it would be harder with more glass than plywood.

It was Joey from diyfishkeepers. He used pond armor on the plywood which gave the wood a glass like property therefore able to silicone glass to it. There is a video series on you tube of him building it, his youtube name is thekingofdiy, just search for diy aquarium and it should come up.
