DIY ATO help

I'm planning a 29 gallon system with a 20 long sump underneath. I wanna put a ATO system on it. I will probably have room towards the top of the stand for a container. So the water will be held above the sump, what would be the best way to set up a ATO?

There are a lot of different ways to setup an ato in your config. You could just use a simple float valve in the sump connected to a line from the bottom of your container. Youd could use a float switch in your sump connnected to a small pump/powerhead in the container, but you would have to make sure you do some type of an antisyphon device to make sure water does not syphon in either direction.

What I would do since you will have a container mounted above the sump is just get a simple float valve like the kent or coralife models and have it feed by a line from the bottom or close to the bottom of your container.
