DIY Cree Led

Hey all,
One of my meanwells on my DIY fixture (eln-40-48p) seems to stay slightly dim when the array is off. It's only this particular array that does it. I've checked this driver on other arrays and it does the same thing. Anyone else have this problem? Is this a problem with the driver?

If the driver continues to do it on a different LED string, then replace the driver.

OH WAIT! Slightly dim, I read it as only being dim. If it stays on, it's ok, the ELN just do that sometimes. :)

Same thing happened to mine. I think they are just made like that. I went two years with my DIY system doing the same thing but you just get used to it.

Solved the issue. When there is no dimming voltage/signal on the driver there is stray voltage on the arrays. Since the drivers are still plugged in on ac110v, electricity is still present. I was seeing as much as 27 volts on that particular drivers output when it was off. The other drivers were around 19volts. So I tuned the SW1 potentiometer in that driver until they went off, which was around 21 volts. This is only happening on the XPE royal blues. Even when I put this driver on the XPG whites it wouldn't partially illuminate them. I'm guessing this is because they take a lot more to power vs the XPE blues. When the dimmer is powered I'm seeing 30v-40v on all 3 drivers, so nothing is really out of spec after doing this. This is a fix for this. I feel like everyone is always scared of the sw1, but this is a definite remedy!

Also just make sure you check your amperage on your string after adjusting the voltage.
