Have you ever wanted it your way? Do you find your love for the hobby is more then just simply buying off the shelf? Doesn't it feel thrilling putting your creativity to the test? I think it is the best part!!

I have little time in the hobby, but I am fully immersed. I have wet my whistle with my first tank up and running, where I have learned, and learned, and learned. I am now ready for a "Real" tank. Planning and preparing is a crucial part of any build, and what better way to make the vision a reality then to ask the fellow Reefer community!

So let's get to the point...

Let's start with materials. Tap Plastics offers an array of material. But which is the best and safest for the hobby?

As far as plastic goes....
Cast acrylic (Plexiglass is one brand name) is whats commonly used..
Use "cast" not "extruded" as cast is under less internal stress..

estreetplastics.com as far better pricing than anyone else I've found online..
I've ordered from them numerous times..

Or you can build it from float glass.. if you want to go the glass route..

One can also build a sump with various other plastics but acrylic is the most common..
