DIY Dosing Containers

any reason why you couldn't use a large ice coffee travel mug? They have a hard straw already in there and tubing could be attached. Anything I'm missing here? The price of dosing containers for what you get seems insane to me.

Also if you've ever washed them in the dishwasher could they be used if they are really rinsed well or start with a new one?
 
I use gallon milk jugs well rinsed out. Anything will work as long as its clean and is food grade plastic. I dose NoPox, and use the original container, drilled out with rigid tubing and a check valve backwards to let air in and not out.
 
Gallon vinegar jugs. Punching a hole takes nearly no effort and reducing that little bit of (really voluminous) waste is kind of nice.
