DIY Filter Sock Holder

Here is what I came up with for a filter sock holder. I used 1/4" acrylic and weldon #4 to glue on the sides. I heated the acrylic with a torch. The bolts are taped 1/4-20, nylon bolts are from us plastics.

This is how it is going to hang in the sump.

I think mine looks better with all the zip ties holding it up. :D

NOT!!! ;)

Great job Steve (as usual).

Time to market it Steve!

Seriously, I'm a little concerned about the weight of the water pulling down on that bracket...it needs more support at the far end away from where its held on the sump. As it clogs, the level will rise in the sock and generate a significant downward force on the bracket.

I thought about a gusset. I am going to think it over, I'll probably add them on before I use it. Thanks for the concern TA.

Thanks Ken, the next installment for DIY projects is going to be installing baffels in a sump and then its on to a plywood tank.
