DIY LED (Redo) Need help

Finally got around to getting everything wired.
Good news, Lights still work.
Got Arduino hooked up so the lights ramp up.

Bad news, a few seconds after lights start to ramp up, I noticed smoke coming from the terminal block. I turned off and unplug the power strip immediately.

Lights were working until I powered everything down. No noticeable damage.
Looked over the Arduino, looks good also. Powered it up alone, and still works.

First picture is a diagram I found on google and used.

Second is lights on.

Third is the entire setup.

Last is the terminal block, where the problem is.

The power going through the transistor is 9v 800mA. Not sure if this is good enough, but based on what I found through google, it shouldn't be enough to burn the transistor.

Smoke is usually failure of an electrical component. If it came from the terminal block, check the ratings and current being carried by the things you have bolted into it (resistors and temp sensors is it?). If not that, if you really are only putting 800mA thru it, it certainly shouldn't be getting hot enough to burn anything off as smoke

Sorry - just looked at the wiring diagram, so they are transistors (which you even mentioned must read things properly!).

I'd be tempted to remove the drivers and try powering up again, and runa multimeter over things, see what's happening.

But then, I'm probably not the best person to be giving circuitry advice

If the drivers are removed, the worst you could do it blow the arduino. But if the smoke really was coming from the terminal block and you are only running 9V, I'd think it was worth a punt...
