just curious, where did you come up with that number? $40? Why not $50 or $100 or even $20? Is it because $40 is all you have or because that is what you are willing to spend?
You'd have to have a look round. Most of the places i use are UK or ones targetting Europe. You should be able get cheaper on your side of the pond. Maybe one of the US guys can suggest, or even just have a look at ebay.com, probably from China!!
Think it'd only be up to keeping softies and some LPS, but should be OK. Always add another when you're willing to spend a bit more, or see if you can find a different driver/PSU and run it at 1A or even a bit more (i wouldn't run the apc 35 1050 that hot for such long periods of time).
