DIY nano wavebox with a natural wave and MJ?

Can I do it? I was wondering how the pulsing goes with the larger box...I was thinking of making a smaller box out of acrylic and housing a MJ1200 in the bottom of it on a wave timer. Should work shouldnt it?

I could be wrong but dont you have to turn the pump on and off at a very high frequency, like every second or two?

If so, can your timer do that?

Also, how big of a tank are you putting this in?

I like the idea. Why dont you do it anyway and let us know how it turned out? :D

Im not sure, but that is one of the issues I was hoping someone might be able to fill me in on. I know that the regular streams never actually turn off...they just cycle from medium to full blast...the MJ would actually turn on and off...but I dont think that would be an issue. The timing does concern me though, as the natural wave seems to have a minimum of 4-5 seconds. I wonder if that is fast enough or if I need to get timer that cycles every 1-3 seconds.

The Stream inside of a Wavebox DOES turn completely off as the box refills.

A natural wave does not have the fine tune adjustability to find the unique frequency needed for you tank. To tune in my Wavebox requires a very fine adjustment on its controller. One nano second one way or another severely affects the wave.

For a wave timer I use a Dj lighting box know as Chauvet DJ lighting timer, and it has the ability to cycle down to every few seconds or up to a few minutes apart. It has worked really well for me so far. Its a possiblity to use it in this application.

Tagareef, so its a different controller all together. Does this controller vary speed or something as it makes a surge? I can get a controller for the MJ that can be set to microseconds.

Tagareef, Just to make sure Im on the right page, the only hole in the box for water to come in and out of is at the output of the Stream right?

The stream turns on, and empties water from the wave box. The stream turns off and the water flows back into the wave box through the output of the Stream?

Am I right here?

What keeps the wavebox from sucking small fish in when it shuts off? Seems like it would turn into a bass-a-matic when it came on if that happened.
