I know most everyone DIY's their plankton culturing stations out of 2 liter bottles but i'm thinking about making some out of acrylic.
I am pretty good with acrylic and I have a lot of tube and sheet to work with.
I think I would make the "reactors" equiped with an air input at the bottom, a 1/2" drain and a 1/2 water input at the top. I could make the units fully sealed, or have removeable lids. Do I need removable lids even if I have a water input drilled/plumbed? I was even thinking about making it possible to automatically replace water lost from rotifer harvest with fresh green water. I know contamination is an issue so I would make the "linking" pieces removable and they would only be installed for harvest times. I'd probably test this on an experiment basis to see if the phyto becomes contaminated.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
