Thanks lakee91I I will try later my head hurts now.I did the last of the gluing today and I still need to fabricate a gasket for between the top flanges. It has a fairly large foot print. I am using a sedra 500 pump and I did not want to hang it on the tube because it is pretty heavy. Also my welds are not that strong where the pvc meets the acrylic. It is a circulating design and will be fed by gravity from the display tank over flow. It could be used in or out of sump depending on if it leaks. I hope to run it tomorrow.

I got the 6 inch acrylic tube free from a neighbor who drives a commercial pick up garbage truck I had about 5 feet of it. I got the rest of the acrylic from the off cuts at a local plastics shop, these pieces and the glue cost me about 30 dollars I had some of the plumbing bits and pieces and probably spent another 30 or so. I used a Kent venturi 25 dollars. I guess maybe about 100 dollars total not counting the pump. I will have to see how it performs to see if I saved anything. If I include the price of the pump I'm pretty close to 200 which I suppose won't by much in the way of a of the shelf unit.
