DIY wave box

Are there any plans out there for a wavebox, similar to the one made by tunze.
Also if someone who owns this could tell how it actually works I would be interested to know.

Basically it's a box with a powerhead at the bottom. It pushes all the water out, then turns off and water reenters the box back through the same place it went out. This is how I've come to understand it, at least. I plan on attempting one out of acrylic and a modified maxijet stream.
