Do Coral bandit shrimp kill fish?

I have been trying to establish a pair of clown fish. I have seen the shrimp going after the clown fish, which seems to "sleep" by sort of swimming in a corner.

Do I need to remove the shrimp? Is this a known problem?

Thanks for any imput:(

My CBS goes after fish all the time but has never caught one. I have 2 clowns, 2 dottybacks, 1 blue damsel, and 1 coral beauty. I also have 3 snails and a (small) hermit crab. The CBS cruises around the tank all day and if a fish swims by him he will try to grab it but he's much to slow. He has not bothered the snails or hermit either. I've had the tank for a few months now (so I'm still a bit of a newbie) but he was one of the first inhabitants and all is fine so far. Thats my experiance hope it helps.

Hi , Im new around here but have been reading for ages .I live in Sydney, Australia , anyway I just have to write in to tell you about my coral banded shrimp , I have had him for a year & 1/2 he sets up a cleaning station and cleans all of my tangs ever so gently , today I added 4 peppermint shrimp to eat my aipitasia, hopefully all will be ok

Every once in a while mine will take a swipe at a fish but i dont ever see him being able to catch one. He is way to slow.

I've had mine for 4 years now and he has never gotten any fish that I know of. My one tang likes to mess with him and seems to purposefully swim into the shrimps "house" and try to get him to chase him. But the shrimp has never gotten him.

Got mine the same day that I got 6 chromis and he took out 3 of them. Woke up to see them in his claws and chowing down.

The fish more likely died of other reasons and he got a hold of them.

I've had one for over a year now with all sorts of fish, inverts, shrimp etc and never had a problem with him.

He'll go after things, but he never catches anything. In fact, I saw he duel with my lone remaining clown (after a nuclear bomb otherwise known as flatworm devastated my tank) and the clown definately came out on top.
